Harry Potter Goes Festive – Five Christmas Clips from the Harry Potter Movies (From HeyUGuys.co.uk)

Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone Christmas

heyUguys logoChristmas Day may have been and gone but we’re still feeling very festive here at HeyUGuys and since we’re still in the twelve days of Christmas, we thought it would be a lovely idea to show off five different clips from five of the Harry Potter movies that celebrate this festive time of year! All eight movies are now available to buy in the HARRY POTTER: THE COMPLETE 8-FILM COLLECTION on DVD and Blu-ray and you can order your copies here.

1. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

We’ll go in order and that means starting off with the very first movie – Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. This movie broke the mould when it comes to all things Potter, set the scene and introduced us to three actors (among many others) who we’d come to see on the big screen for the next eleven years. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are now household names and this is why…..

In this scene we get all festive seeing Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) pulling in the Christmas Tree into Hogwarts followed by Professor Flitwick (Warwick Davis) decorating it in a rather unique way. We then get to see Ron (Grint) and Harry (Radcliffe) playing chess which comes in very handy for the climax of the film while Hermione (Watson) gets ready to go home for the Christmas holidays.

2) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Harry Potter and the Chamber of SecretsHere’s the second of our movies and coincidentally (!) it’s the second film, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. In this festive clip, we get to see a lovely exterior shot of Hogwarts with sleighs being pulled by beautiful white ponies followed by a fantastic CG shot inside The Great Hall which is being showered with snow. The clip then transitions perfectly into some great dialogue from the main three stars who begin discussing just how they are going to infiltrate the Slytherin common-room by taking a potion which will turn them into Crabbe and Goyle.

Watch the clip below which will explain all!

3) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Harry Potter - Yule BallTime to skip a movie and move onto the fourth in the franchise which has the title Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.  I think had to be my favourite clip in the selecti0n that we have here, mainly because it features Ron looking like a complete moron in the suit that his mum has sent him. The suit in question is for the The Yule Ball which takes right in the middle of the Twiwizard tournament that Harry has found himself mysteriously entered into. This clip says Christmas in so many ways and seeing The Great Hall looking more Christmassy than ever before is a sight to be seen!

Here’s your clip!

4) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Harry Potter and the Order of the PhoenixHere’s the one fans of Daniel Radcliffe will either like or loath! It’s the kissing scene with Cho Chang (Katie Leung) before Harry Potter (Radcliffe) realised his true love lies with Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright).  The scene is pretty cheese-tastic with mistletoe above them setting the scene nicely! This is then obviously followed up by a debrief with his best mates where he describes the kiss as ‘wet’! What a romantic!

5) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry, Ron and Ginny with Mince PiesHere’s the final clip and I hope you’ve liked our selection so far! In this clip, we not only see a Christmas cake with a dancing snowman and the Weasley Twins pulling a cracker, we also get to see Harry sitting chatting with Remus Lupin (David Thewlis) about how Lord Voldemort is plotting against all things good while we hear Molly Weasley (Julie Walters) shouting at Ginny in the background! Everything you need for a Weasley family Christmas.

This is also the awkward scene where Harry and Ginny get rather intimate only to be interrupted by Ron stuffing his face with mine pies! What could be more Christmassy?!

I hope you’ve enjoyed our Harry Potter Christmas clips. Let us know if we missed any in the comments below and have a great New Year!
